This article explains how to read the Batch Details screen — your single source of truth for understanding how a production batch is performing in the market. Batch Details shows every scan of every tag in that batch, along with analytics and metadata.
Prerequisites
Admin, Editor, or Viewer role.
At least one batch exists for the product you are inspecting.
Opening Batch Details
In the left sidebar, click Products and open the product.
Scroll to the Batches table at the bottom of the Product Detail screen.
Find the batch you want to inspect, click the three-dot menu at the end of the row, and select View Batch Details.
Top Metrics
Five metric cards at the top of the screen summarize batch performance:
Card | What It Shows |
Total Scans | Every scan event for any tag in this batch |
Unique Scans | Deduplicated count — the same tag and device counts once |
Active Tags | Number of tags from this batch that have been scanned at least once |
% Batch Scanned | Active tags as a percentage of total tags in the batch |
Avg Time to First Scan | Average elapsed time from batch production to the first scan of each tag |
Batch Information
Below the metric cards, the screen has three panels:
Product
Shows the product this batch belongs to — product name, image, and total tags in the batch.
Batch Description
Shows the core batch details:
Field | Description |
Lot | Human-readable lot number |
Batch ID | System-generated unique batch identifier |
Started at | Timestamp when the batch began |
Ended at | Timestamp when the batch completed |
Produced at | Production date |
Expires at | Expiration date (if applicable) |
Tags
This panel lets you apply tags (labels) to the batch for reporting purposes. Batch tags are separate from NFC tags — they are descriptive labels like a distributor name, a PO number, or a destination city.
To add a batch tag:
Click New tag in the Tags panel or select an existing tag from the dropdown.
Type the label and press Enter.
Click Save.
Batch tags are searchable and make it easy to group related batches in reports.
Attributes
The Attributes panel shows any metafields that were associated with this batch during the BatchMaker process — for example, distributor name, disclaimer text, or destination retailer. See Working with Metafields for how to define these.
Overview Tab — The Map
The default tab is Overview, which displays a map of every scan for this batch across the world. Unlike the Dashboard home map (which shows all batches), this map is scoped to the current batch only.
Click a pin to see details for that scan.
Zoom and pan to inspect a specific region.
Use the 3D toggle in the bottom-right corner to view clusters in three dimensions.
Analytics Tab
The Analytics tab visualizes scan activity for this batch:
Chart | Description |
Scans Over Time | Scan volume per day since the batch was produced |
Geography | Scans broken down by country and region |
Top Scanning Cities | Word cloud sized by scan frequency |
Scans Breakdown | Counts of Authentic, Counterfeit, and Rescan statuses |
Batch Items Table
Below the map, a table lists every individual tag in the batch. Each row shows:
Column | Description |
Activated at | When the tag was associated with the product |
TID | The unique tag identifier (hidden by default for security) |
Order ID | The tag order this tag came from |
Scan dates | Timestamps of the scans for this tag |
View details | Opens the individual scan history for that tag |
Click View details on any row to open the Scan Details & Product Journey screen for that specific tag (see Scan Details & Product Journey).
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
The batch map is empty | No tags from this batch have been scanned yet, or the scans are outside the date range. Wait for scans to accumulate, or remove any date filter. |
Avg Time to First Scan shows as a dash | This metric requires at least one scan. It will populate after the first tag in the batch is scanned. |
The Attributes panel is empty | Metafields are added during BatchMaker batching. If this batch was created before you defined metafields, they cannot be added retroactively. |
A tag shows in Batch Items but never scanned | Physical tags can exist without being scanned. Activation simply means the tag was associated with the batch; a scan requires a consumer to tap the product. |
