Settings
Tap the Settings Tab to review your configuration. Most settings are configured during initial setup and won't need to be changed regularly. However, it is important to understand each option.
Setting | What it does |
Language | Changes the BatchMaker interface language. Contact ForgeStop if your language isn't available. |
Label Type | Set to Auto for standard production lines. For high-speed lines, set this to your specific label type for better read accuracy. |
Readers | Shows all connected readers. Multiple readers will all appear here. |
Output Folder | Where batch files are saved locally. You generally won't need to change this. |
BatchMaker ID | Your device's unique identifier. You may be asked for this by ForgeStop support. |
Scan Beep | Enables or disables an audible beep on every successful scan. |
Tamper Detection | Only relevant if your tags have a tamper loop (see note below). |
UHF Scanner Power | Only relevant if you're using a UHF/dual-frequency reader. Adjust strength (0–30) to control read range and precision. |
Tamper Detection: If your product uses tamper-loop tags, enabling this setting will flag any broken tamper loops before products leave the line — useful when the tamper loop is hidden under a label. Note that tamper detection requires slightly more processing time per scan and is best suited for slow or manual production lines.
Language
BatchMaker currently supports English, Spanish, and French. Additional languages may be added in the future. If you need a language that is not yet available, contact ForgeStop support to request it.
Label Type
This determines which type of label the scanner looks for. There are three options:
• Auto — Works for standard supply chain and regular production lines. The scanner automatically detects the label type.
• EM LinQ — Select this if you know your labels are EM LinQ type. Specifying the type directly can improve scanning speed by narrowing the scope of what the reader searches for.
• EM EchoV — Select this for EM EchoV labels. Like EM LinQ, selecting specifically helps with high-speed manufacturing.
Tip: For high-speed production lines, it is better to specify the exact label type. For regular production, Auto works fine.
Label Readers
This displays the connected label reader hardware. In the example shown, a FEIG ID CPR30pro reader is connected. This field is informational and usually does not need to be changed.
Output Folder
If configured, batch output files can be saved to a local folder in addition to being uploaded to the ForgeStop cloud. This is typically set during initial setup and rarely needs adjustment.
Batch Maker ID
This is the unique identifier for this specific BatchMaker device. You generally do not need to change this, but you may occasionally need to provide this ID to ForgeStop support for troubleshooting purposes.
Scan Sound
When enabled, the device will produce an audible beep with every single label scan. This can be useful for confirming scans are happening in noisy production environments, or it can be turned off if the sound is not needed.
Tamper Detection
This feature is only relevant for brands using labels with a tamper-evident feature. When enabled, the scanner checks whether any tamper seals are broken as items pass through the production line. This ensures that products are not shipped with damaged tamper tags.
Note: Tamper detection requires approximately 2 seconds of scanner contact per tag, which slows down scanning speed. It is designed for manual production lines only and is not suitable for high-speed automated lines.
UHF Scanner Power
This setting controls the transmission power of UHF (Ultra High Frequency) scanners. It is only relevant if you are using a UHF reader.
• Higher power (e.g., 30 dBm) — Greater read range and distance, suitable for wider production lines.
• Lower power (e.g., 0 dBm) — More precise, shorter-range reads, useful when you want to limit the scan area.
Admin Actions
At the bottom of the Settings page, three action buttons are available:
• Admin Login — Access administrator functions for advanced configuration.
• Reset Password — Reset the device PIN if needed.
• Apply Settings — Save any changes made on this page.
