How to Scan NFC Tags on Android

Most modern Android phones (Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, ASUS, Sony Xperia, Redmi, etc.) include NFC.

Updated over a month ago

Android's tag dispatch system actively scans when the screen is unlocked and NFC is enabled — it automatically opens webpages encoded in NFC tags.

Confirm NFC Capability

Check if your phone supports NFC:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Connected Devices (or Network & Internet)

  3. Tap Connection Preferences

  4. Look for NFC

If you see the NFC toggle, your device supports it.
